VEGF-A in serum free culture supports the differentiation of ES cells into ECs and SMCs (PDF file, 92 KB) - FACS analysis was performed using specific antibodies for each endothelial and smooth muscle cell marker as indicated. ES cells were aggregated to form EBs for four days, plated on vitronectin-coated dishes, and induced to differentiate to EC and SMC with VEGF-A. ES cells were analyzed with specific antibodies at various days of the in vitro differentiation protocol as indicated.
