  • Document 1.Supplementary methods and formation of functional blood vessels by tumor-infiltrating VLCs and HUVEC cells (PDF, 271 KB) - The document describes the methodology used for the preparation of the specimens, sorting and real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR). It also contains additional data from more experiments addressing the formation of blood vessels in Matrigel plugs by VLCs and HUVECs, as well as from a preliminary experiment that explored the presence of VLCs in normal mouse tissues. Images were viewed through a Nikon Eclipse E400 inverted microscope with 10×, 20×, and 40× objectives (Nikon, Tokyo, Japan). Images were acquired with a CoolSnap-Pro digital camera and Phase 3 Imaging software (Media Cybernetics, Silver Spring, MD).
