Supplemental materials for: Byzova et al, Vol 99, Issue 12, 4434-4442.

Supplemental Videos:

Ad-VEGF-DNC and control Ad-GFP were injected into the cremaster muscle as described in "Materials and methods." Seven days after injection, surgical flap dissection was performed. After 1 hour of equilibration period, the microcirculatory measurements were recorded using a Zeiss (Goettingen, Germany) 20T microscope equipped with a videorecorder. Final magnification was 1800x on the monitor screen. Note the increase in the number of capillaries (thin colorless vessels with quickly flowing cells) but not postcapillary venules that are characterized by larger diameter and relatively slow flow with distinguishable blood cells. Also note the higher blood velocity in the Ad-VEGF-DNC–treated sample.

MPEG Video 1 (4.47MB): Functional capillaries after treatment with Ad-GFP (control).

MPEG Video 2 (2.31MB): Functional capillaries after treatment with Ad-VEGF-DNC.
