Autologous graft-versus-host disease–like syndrome after an alemtuzumab-containing conditioning regimen and autologous stem cell transplantation for chronic lymphocytic leukemia
Blood Zenz et al. 108: 2127

Supplemental materials for: Zenz et al

Files in this Data Supplement:

  • Figure S1. Outcome after Alem/TBI/Cy vs. TBI/Cy and auto-SCT (PDF, 14.9 KB) -
    A. Kaplan Meier estimate of overall survival for patients receiving TBI/Cy (n=11) and Alem/TBI/Cy (n=16). Two patients in the standard TBI/Cy group have died vs. 5 patients in the group receiving Alem/TBI/Cy (p=0.10).
    B. Cumulative incidence of non relapse mortality (NRM) for patients receiving TBI/Cy (n=11) and Alem/TBI/Cy (n=16). There were no deaths due to NRM in the standard group, compared to 4 in the Alem/TBI/Cy group (p=0.07).
    C. Kaplan Meier estimate of progression free survival for patients receiving TBI/Cy (n=11) and Alem/TBI/Cy (n=16).

  • Figure S2. Auto-GvHD after Alem/TBI/Cy vs. TBI/Cy and auto-SCT (PDF, 156 KB) -
    A. Cumulative incidence of the development of an unexplained skin rash and auto-GvHD in patients receiving TBI/Cy and Alem/TBI/Cy.
    B. Typical appearance of the maculopapular skin rash of auto-GvHD. The patient received steroids and later cyclosporine and mycophenolate mofetil. Tapering of immunosuppression led to the return of GvHD and at the last follow-up a re-biopsy was performed showing mild GvHD with perivascular and subepidermal infiltration of T cells.
    C. Histology of a typical skin biopsy finding with interface dermatitis and perivascular lymphocytic infiltrates, epithelial tropism of lymphocytes, and focal vacuolization of epidermal basal cells.

  • Figure S3. Comparison of MRD results for patients receiving TBI/Cy and Alem/TBI/Cy (PDF, 12 KB) -
MRD positive patients were defined as patients who never became MRD negative and patients who were only transiently negative. The comparison of patients receiving TBI/Cy and Alem/TBI/Cy was statistically significant (p= 0.0039). The comparison of patients receiving Alem/TBI/Cy with and without GvHD approached statistical significance (p= 0.08). MRD was assessed as described.16
