Preformed antibody, not primed T cells, is the initial and major barrier to bone marrow engraftment in allosensitized recipients
Blood Taylor et al. 109: 1307

Supplemental materials for: Taylor et al, Vol 109, Issue 3, 1307-1315

Files in this Data Supplement:

  • Figure S1. mIg and splenectomy modestly reduce antibody levels in primed mice (PDF, 58.8 KB) -
B6 recipients were primed d-56 with 20 × 106 BALB/c splenocytes ip. Splenectomy (Splx) was performed d-28. Mouse Ig (20 mg) was administered ip d-15 and d-7. Serum was collected on d-2 and analyzed in thymocyte binding assay. Shown are overlay histograms illustrating serum alloantibody levels at time of BMT in 5 mice/group. Survival and engraftment are shown in Table 2. Thin dotted line illustrates degree of binding by serum from non-primed control mice. Negative control (no serum) is indicated by thin dashed line. Listed is average percentage positive binding and mean fluorescent intensity (MFI). * p < .05 vs primed control; ˆ p < .05 vs primed, mIg-treated mice.
