Endothelial cell divisions are oriented relative to the long axis of the blood vessel in developing vessels (MOV, 8.71 MB) - A 292-minute time-lapse video of a day 8 WT PECAM-H2B-GFP ES differentiation culture that illustrates endothelial cell division oriented perpendicular to blood vessel long axis. The majority (56%) of the endothelial divisions are oriented within 10 degrees of perpendicular to the long axis of the vessel. Frames were collected once per minute and are shown once every 1/15 second. See Figure 2B for still images. Video S2. The orientation of endothelial cell divisions is randomized in flt-1−/− mutant vessels (MOV, 2.6 MB) - A 240-minute time-lapse video of a day 8 flt-1−/− PECAMH2B-GFP ES differentiation culture that illustrates randomized orientation of an endothelial cell division. Only 24% of divisions were within 10 degrees of perpendicular to the long axis of blood vessel, as opposed to 56% of WT divisions.
