(A) Comparison of CD49d expression in 15 CLL PB samples tested as either fresh samples or after thawing; the correlation coefficient r between the two sets of samples was 0.98 (B) Comparison of CD49d expression in 44 fresh PB samples as resulted by flow cytometric evaluation carried out in two different laboratories, i.e. located at the University of Tor Vergata in Rome (Rome) and at the Clinical & Experimental Onco-Hematology Unit of the Centro di Riferimento Oncologico in Aviano (Aviano). Dotted lines are set at the 30% cut-off level. The correlation coefficient between the two analyses is reported (r = 0.97); (C) Over time expression of CD49d; sequential samples from nine selected CLL cases were thawed and checked for the expression of CD49d over a period ranging from 1 to 14 years from the diagnosis. Horizontal lines represent the 30% value used as cut-off to separate cases expressing the antigens below or above the established threshold.
