Mitochondrial clearance is regulated by Atg7-dependent and -independent mechanisms during reticulocyte maturation
Blood Zhang et al. 114: 157

Supplemental materials for: Zhang et al

Files in this Data Supplement:

  • Figure S1. Erythroid-myeloid hyperplasia and lymphoid hypoplasia in Atg7−∕− transplant recipients (JPG, 681 KB) -
(Upper) Spleen sections from Atg7+∕+ and Atg7−∕− transplant recipients stained with Hematoxylin and Eosin (original magnification, ×40). Lymphoid (Ly) and erythroid (Er) areas are indicated. (Lower) Lineage-positive spleen cells in Atg7+∕+ or Atg+∕− (n=5) and Atg7−∕− (n=3) transplant recipients. T-cell numbers were determined by staining for Thy1.2 or by CD4 and CD8. P<0.01 is indicated by (*).

  • Figure S2. Reconstitution of the erythroid lineage with Atg7−∕− cells (JPG, 364 KB) -
E13.5 fetal liver cells were transplanted into lethally-irradiated B6.FVB-Tg(H2K-GFP) recipients. At 5 and 10 weeks post-transplant, the mice were bled, and their erythrocytes stained with MTR. Nascent reticulocytes (MTR+), host-derived cells (GFP+), and donor-derived cells (GFP) were determined by flow cytometry. By 10 weeks post-transplant, the erythrocytes and reticulocytes in the Atg7+∕+ and Atg7−∕− transplant recipients are entirely of donor origin.
