(A) IFN alpha mediated anti-leukemic protection does not occur in 6–9 week old Rag 2−∕− injected with 1 × 106 BaF3 cells expressing BCR-ABL and ICSBP (black square) or BCR-ABL and IFN alpha (grey diamond). (B) The IFN alpha mediated anti-leukemic protection occurs in 6–9 week old Balb/c mice injected with 1 × 106 BaF3 cells expressing BCR-ABL and IFN alpha (black square) but is absent if the BCR-ABL–expressing cells carry IFN alpha (grey diamond) in a reverse orientation.

(A) Survival curves for 6–9 week old Balb/c mice injected with 1 × 106 BaF3 cells expressing L248R BCR-ABL variant with or without ICSBP, IFN alpha or IFN beta. (B) Survival curves for 6–9 week old Balb/c mice injected with 1 × 106 BaF3 cells expressing the indicated BCR-ABL T315I variant with or without ICSBP, IFN alpha or IFN beta.

-
1431 genes were organized into 15 different clusters based on their pattern of expression across the 4 cell types. Next to each cluster is described the effects of ICSBP and BCR-ABL on gene expression in each cluster, as well as the number of genes contained in each.

(A) Histogram representation of white blood counts (WBC) obtained from peripheral blood harvested from a Balb/c control mouse, and from mice injected with BaF3 cells expressing the indicated genes and shRNAs. Each experiment was repeated at least 3 times with n= 2 mice per condition. The normal WBC range of 1800–10700 cells/µl is indicated. (B) Histogram representation of percentage of lymphocytes obtained from the total white blood count performed on peripheral blood harvested from a Balb/c control mouse, and from mice injected with BaF3 cells expressing the indicated genes and shRNAs. The normal lymphocyte range of 55.8–95.6% is indicated.
