Files in this Data Supplement:
- Video 1. Ribbon diagram and electrostatic surface of HEβ14,15 (MOV, 4.29 MB)
-
The ankyrin binding region of human erythroid β-spectrin is shown rotating about its long axis. The first rotation of the molecule depicts the ribbon diagram (repeat 14 in blue, repeat 15 in red). An electrostatic surface at ± 15 KbT/ec is then shown during the second rotation. The large negatively charged surface on repeat 14 can be observed most clearly in the final seconds of the movie.
- Video 2. Ribbon diagram and electrostatic surface of Zu5-ANK (MOV, 4.29 MB)
-
The spectrin binding region of human erythroid ankyrin is shown rotating about the axis of its β-sheet-rich core. The first rotation of the molecule displays the ribbon diagram (the beta core is shown in gold, helices and loops in maroon). An electrostatic surface at ± 15 KbT/ec is then shown during the second rotation. The positively-charged surface mentioned in the text can be seen in the final seconds of the movie.
