About the Cover for Blood 114 (3)
The Australian Common Brown Snake (Pseudonaja textilis) has one of the most toxic venoms in the world, containing neurotoxic and procoagulant components. The latter consists of a factor V and a factor Xa-like enzyme. The factor V component has unique gain-of-function properties not present in mammalian factor V.
