A novel glass needle microinjection method was developed in order to introduce proteins and large heterologous DNA molecules into hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells. High levels of successful marker introduction and long-term cell survival and function are reported by Brian Davis and colleagues in the article beginning on page 437 of this issue.
